I havent had any trouble at all with mine. In fact I even cut holes in the underside of the hood. That is a must when running GT40 intakes with a 1" spacer plate. I cant really say for sure whether or not it ran cooler. Its been too long since Ive done it, and I didnt even think about that. It kinda makes sense that it would run cooler though.
