i have a 2000 GT and i have noticed the same thing. the one thing to consider is the temp of the air coming in. i've heard of a "resistor mod" where they put a resistor on the wires of the sensor that measures the temp. of the air coming through the intake. and basically it tricks the computer into thinking the air coming in is cooler than what it really is...
