If done by a reputable shop, an AOD rebuild is the way to go, but if you dont know of any good shops, then a new one is probably a good idea.

If you plan on modding the car very much in the future then it might be worth while to check out Lentech Automatic's.

or you could always do what I did and swap to a T-5
