I called a tire store and they thought I would have rubbing problems with just about anything (of course, I am not claiming that they know anything )

I thought a 255/40/17 may be better, but I am still worried about the front rubbing. This is the size that AFS wheels ships out in its packages for the 90 Mustang, although they say they have a little better luck with the 8" wheel. The 9" wheels are already being shipped to me, but the additional offset is supposed to help with the rubbing. I can live with a little rubbing though.

So, from what I gather on MW, the 255/40 should be fine....assuming my wheels don't totally screw things up. So, do you all agree I should get the 255/40's?
