I beg to differ on the opinion that the A9L and A9P are interchangable, though. The A9P can be used in either a 5 speed or an AOD, BUT, if you try to use the A9L in an AOD Mustang, you will fry it, UNLESS you modify the harness. See, the AOD's have a starting system connection in which, when the key is ON or in the START position, 12 vdc are fed to pin 30 in the ECM connector. You can put the A9P in a 5 speed car because it won't miss the signal, but if you put the A9L into an AOD car, that 12 vdc signal will fry the ECM. So, if that is your only option, make sure to disconnect the wire from pin 30 at the ECM connector. Get it? Take care, ~Chris
