The Vortech is a newer designed blower that is gear-driven as compared to the older ball-driven Paxton,(that Summit sells)simply put the Vortech is a newer designed blower.

ButPaxton has since developed a gear driven Paxton 1000 blower which now uses internal gears just like the Vortech,price is around the $2000 mark also,but am unaware where you can buy these kits from.
