Your trying to format your CD? Unless it's a CDRW (RW - Rewritable) that will be your first problem. CDR's (Recordable). So I suggest getting a brand new CDR stick it in your CD-Rom download Nero, if you want I can email you the program (full version of it) that is the best program to use I find. Basicly you put the cd in open the program follow the wizard to what type of CD you wish to creat (VCD, Music CD, Data CD etc) and then it's just a drag and drop kind of thing you click burn the cd, select the speed you wish to burn it at. (What speed burner do you have?) and just let it be, you'll most likely see a red light on your CD-Rom glow and flash indicating the CD is burning.

Hope this can help alittle,
§am
PS. If any questions email me or PM me.
