				 | OEM vs. Repro. : Head/Tail Lenses Is there any big difference between reproduction and OEM tail light lenses (other than the nice price break when going with repro.)? Reproduction Lenses: $50/ea. Ford OEM Lenses: $90/ea. Anyone use Repro. and are happy with fit, etc.? ------------------ Jeff Kane 1990 LX Mustang ex-5.0 Coupe No engine. No transmission. | Not sure but I would like to know as well, since I got raped by Ford today buying new lenses. I have heard one thing though, if your going to use clear front turn signals it is best to use all clear from the same manafacturer or they will be off some. So from that I would guess there is some difference in all the lenses.... Has anybody gotten to see the repo besides the OEM?? I am betting that if you use two of the same it will look fine either way. ------------------ 1990 LX HATCH My Homepage, outdated but some info valid |

				 | I have Reproduction Lenses look nice. But I have a hard time keeping them on good. I think it is the way they are heald on with this Black sealer stuff. I think they both are the same looking. Get the Reproduction Lenses. PS: I had to get new ones after a Motor Bike COP Rear ended Me, it was his falt. |

				 | Thanks for the information Stang Runner. I'm going to do some investigating as to how the various reproduction lenses are attached to the car. I would prefer lenses with OEM attachment (nuts and bolts) even if it does run me more $$. ------------------ Jeff Kane 1990 LX Mustang ex-5.0 Coupe No engine. No transmission. | Hey guys, well before i sold my stang i had bought the repros...they are okay..and they also have a "made in mexico" stamp on the right lens where the black trim lies. If you care about detail pay the extra $50 buck for the oem ones. I am gonna buy a set of oems when i get paid. ~dan |
