Yes, increasing your compression ratio limits the maximum amount of power adder you can put onto the car. Superchargers, turbochargers, nitrous. Whichever. In the case of nitrous, it has more to do with octane, and timing. There isn't anything wrong with 9:1 CR for a 5.0. If you are N/A 10.0:1 will give you a few extra ponies under the hood, but it's a bit much for serious forced induction, and it requires more timing retard and better gas when using a good healthy shot of N20. |
