If you take the Marine up on his offer, be aware that you will need to transfer your ring gear to the new posi unit, which you might as well rebuild anyway, and set the backlash properly. No big deal if you're getting new gears at the same time, but if you just want to rebuild the posi it will take longer and it's more expensive.
BTW, I used the alternating clutch method, no popping and no problems for the last 6 months. And it is IMPOSSIBLE to spin one tire no matter what.
