I tried to put factory shorties on my 68 FB, 289. Won't clear the steering box.
Get the right headers. You will also have to put the brkt. on the steering ram to drop it, if equiped with P/S. The O2 bungs can be welded anywhere you want. Not a hard, or expensive job. Do it right the first time, you won't be sorry.
