Some say that they are a pain in the butt but with shops like http://www.50resto.com it's relatively cheap and easy to bring any pony back from the dead. I've spent about 15 grand since taking over my dad's car. And it's been worth every cent. My buddies drive BMW's and Mercedes verts, but they dig the sound and ride of my car. I say there is really negligible difference btwn any of the 88-93 verts LX or GT. It all comes down to personal preference. Good Luck.
