We've had a lot of bird over the years and all I can say is that their health is a fragile thing when they get sick. A few of our birds got sick and died in only a couple of days with what started out like cold symptoms. As long as he is still eating that is a very good sign. Also when they get really weak they will just sit on the bottom of the cage instead of standing on the perch. If you have seen signs of improvement he will probably be fine - all the ones that we had that died just got worse in a hurry.
