6T9Pony, what kind of ignition setup are you running right now? One thing i never liked about older cars (especially points) was how you'd have to be able to dyno tune the thing to figure out what kind of advance curve, initial advance and total advance you want to get out of it. Once you change all the stuff you have, the stock timing curve and timing in general has to be costing some power.
That's all i can think of why your car is not as fast as you want it to be. If you get it dyno tuned and get everything from the jetting to the timing changed, i bet you'd pick up quite a bit of power. Not to mention traction.
I'm going to get some slicks myself because i ran a best of 2.14 something 60' at half throttle in first gear, off idle launch, because wheel hop/spin is so bad. That alone would dramatically better your time.
