you sure? how about 15 quarts of oil at $2.50 a quart(roughly) and an oil filter about $12 for every 6000 miles or if you run synthetic, every 10,000 miles at $20 a gallon(roughly)about $5 a quart times 15. Diesels do not cost less to operate overall. yes they do get better fuel economy, but maintence is very expensive. filters in general on diesel trucks are generally expensive as well.

when it all comes down, it will be the diesel that will last you 250,000 miles without breaking a sweat.
