![]() It sure could. Best thing probably, jump start your car and get to a battery store, Sears, Auto Zone, Pep Boys, etc. They will check your battery and charging system, usually for free.
EDIT: You should probably take it back to where you bought the battery if they're local. If it's just a year old, it should still be under warranty.
