It couldn't hurt to change them out. I only did mine for appearance purposes... they look great. Wish I had a picture. Sure dressed up my engine compartment.

The wires were easy to change out except for the last two on the passenger side. You have to remove a couple things to get in there... If you go with the larger wires, your wire looms may no longer fit. I used my dremel to widen the looms a bit to hold the 9mm wires. Worked perfectly.

I bought mine at "Mustangs Unlimited"... They don't have these in their on-line catelog but you can get a free catelog sent to you in the mail that has them and the others mentioned...
