I'm running a stock motor and had a very similar problem. It was like I had a rev limiter at 4800rpms. It didn't buck quite like a limiter, but it wouldn't accel past it.
A friend of mine helped me change the TFI and pickup and it went away for short while. It started happening again except at 3500 or 4000 or something like that. Replace the coil with a Crane PS91 and it went away completely. I'd say replace the TFI and coil and be done with it. TFIs are known to go bad eventually anyway. Good luck, Rich D. |
