With my timing at about 9 degrees, I went 15.4, then with it bumped to 12 and 89 octane, I went 14.6 I did get a little better traction that day, but the MPH went up too, 90 to 95, I'd say it makes a difference. Lets just say if you don't have anything better to do, grab a timing light and set it at 12 or so, it runs fine on 87 octane at 12 (mine does anyway)
