That's funny you mention this i have a few examples/stories:
My good friend in HS had an 89 LX notch, and i had a 91 LX hatch. I could unlock his doors with my door key, but not vice-versa When i worked at firestone, i started several explorers with keys to other explorers and the remotes would sometimes unlock 2 vehicles at the same time. I moved a Honda Civic blocking a bay door once with keys to another Civic with no problem (including unlocking the door) on accident. The guy was scratching his head as to how his car moved.
