Actually, ricer-phobia, as you call it, would mean having a fear of ricers. That's what phobia means anyways.

I think your right in the retrospect that if a bunch of people don't agree with a person's mods on their cars then they are rice or called something else. I've seen the same thing happen at my vo-tech college. There is this one kid going down there that has flowmasters on a 4.3L v-6 s-10. I think it sounds pretty good (for a v-6). However, most others disagree.

In the end, it comes down to what people see as "cool" mods and what they see as "bad" mods. If they all agree on something then it's cool. If it looks bad to all of them then it's a bad mod. They could care less about it and walk away.
