Cool

Chuck, Mustang 289, and any one else... Lee Rutter of New York, back in 1990 with a set of TFS high port heads, a wolverine 1087 cam, and a GT-40 intake, with 19lbs injectors, ran 11.00s WITH SPEED DENSITY. He is MY hero. I had problems at one time. I got a mass air set up. It did not cure the problem. I found what ever it was, then converted back to speed density. Yes it hunts occasionally, but it is not a Lincoln. If it acts up too bad I threaten to get the mass air out the shed, and it straitens up real quick.

The only thing I can not do so far is put 24lbs injectors, I run 38-39psi of fuel no matter what cam- heads combo the SD does the rest. I have had three differant heads, and three differant cams. They all worked.

I have NO secrets. I do have a helping attitude. And I also have this. Ram air, 65mmTB, ported cobra, ported E7s, E-303 cam, race pully on crank, short belt (water, alt), fuel press reg, msd 6al and blaster 2 coil, talor wires, motor craft plugs, 1 5/8 long tubes, off road pipe, Quick flows, dumped, 4.30s, axles, studs, alum drive shaft & loop, weld drag lights, skinnys, 90/10s, poly bushings in stock rear control arms, welded torque boxes, hoosiers, and a light car, 2920lbs with me and a full tank of gas. I may have missed something but I don't think so.

Mine runs 12.5s @ 108+ I drive it daily, I bring my daughter to school every morning, I drove it to Covingon, La. to escape the recent hurricane. I used less than 7 gals of gas to get there, with 4.30s.

If adding a K&N causes problems, you have other problems. I use only MOTORCRAFT 02 sensors, set tps at .99 volts, idle at 1000rpm, keep it in good tune. I have it in my head that I will run low 11s with SPEED DENSITY. Later I will put a turbo, but I think that one will get me. But I will go DFI then.

Don't give up on SD, it is more user friendly that most poeple think. What did you used to do when someone said, " You can't do that"
