if you do go with fixing yours and it is out of the car and all apart anyways, you might as well just have them do a complete rebuild. if you just get the syncros changed something else might go in a little while and then you'll have to do it all over again.

I did mine myself and it was the first time I had ever seen the inside of a manual transmission. I had a friend helping but he didn't know any more about it than I did. Got a rebuild kit from D&D performance for $159 and a manual for $20.
That was probably about 25,000 km's ago and it works great. I also don't drag race (yet) so if you are hard on tranny's you may want to look into something else
