Odessa Texas is probably even drier than Southern California. I kept saying man I wish it would rain, for the last two weeks it was cloudy and cold and the weather man kept saying its gonna rain. We got less than 2 inches from a 2 week storm.
I dont know for sure but I would imagine Odessa's anual rainfall is 8 or 9 inches. So I feel your pain
