![]() My expierence with edelbrock carbs has not been good they do not have a proper vacumn port to work with the stock fdord distributor the problem being that their "timed" vacumn port only flashes vacumn at it for roughly a second after going to WOT instead of sustaining vacumn at WOT like the factory distributor was designed for. Thus reqireing a "real" mechanical advance built into the distrubutor. unfortunatley fact. ford dis. only have a few degrees of mech. advcance built into them the rest is all vacumn.
secondly this has nothing to do with which brand per se' but my expierince with clevlands has been because of there heads and rev ability work best with a 700cfm or better IMHO 600 is actually only another 100 cfm off of the stock 2v and is to restrictive. I recomend a 750 Holley if it were me if you want the Ede carb go up to 800 to get the same performance out of it that you would a 750 holley. I have found most Ede need an extra 50 cfm rating to make the same power as the same motor with a Holley on it.
