What size skinnies is good on the streets??

I have seen several stangs on street with skinnies but what kinda fun is that? I personally like to have the widest thing to fit my rim and can't understand why you would drive a sports car around on tires meant for a toyota tercel just to gain tenth of a second. Can't see tht being a factor in street driving and it seems alot more dangerous to be doing speeds like that without traction and what about hydroplaning. I prolly sound like my dad but just thought I'd say somethin...hope you find what ya lookin for
