Your shifter will fit in the stock location. The only shifter problem you will have is with the length of the shifter hitting your climate control, and stereo. I have a 69 with a TKO and a 351C and a hurst short throw in it. But I had to get a different shifter lever so I didn't hit my hand when I shifted into 1st,3rd, and 5th. Look for 4 speed shifter lever you can unbolt the the short throw from the Pro and bolt that one on. I used Hurst 4 speed shifter lever, looks nice and works perfect.
