Why does he want to convert to carb? If this is going to be a daily driver, then I would say it isn't worth it.
If you plan on racing it then a good carb set up is the way to go.
Also, if he's just doing it to get rid of EFI problems he may have now then he might be in for a surprise.
Keep in mind that if you switch to a carb you will give up these things.

1) cold starting quality
2) increased fuel consumption
3) higher emissions
4) decrease in cars value

He might want to think about these things first before he switches.
