![]() That is the air charge temp sensor I believe. I actually had to drill and tap my Cobra intake for it (I think the 94-95 cobras had that sensor relocated). The sensor goes into the lower manifold over cyl 5 and the plug comes off the wiring harness for the fuel injectors. There are ways to relocate the sensor, but I found it easier to just put it in the existing place.
It wouldn't be connected to your water temp though. The gauge I'm talking about measures the air charge temperature and supplies the info to the computer for fuel ratios or something. If your temp gauge isn't working I would think that's another issue alltogether.
