The catch there is that it says "and who knows a salvage certificate of title has been issued".

They say they didn't know because they didn't get the title for four weeks (yesterday). However that doesn't make sense either because when I traded in my stang, they had me sign the title over right then and there.

The answer to that first part is Bull Sh** !!
The answer to the second part is the same as the answer to the first part.
They knew, trust me they knew. There is not a used car salesman on this planet that you could sell a car with a salvage title to without them knowing it before they gave you a dime.
I don't know of any state where you don't have to disclose a veh with a salvage title before sale. They are just testing you to see how much noise you'll make. If you really press the issue i'll bet a dollar to a donut they'll fold and take the truck back. Also it could be a recovered theft (i get them all the time without a mark on them) or it could be a total disaster that someone has patched back together. In Calif it has to be inspected by the CHP before its put back on the road if it has a salvage title so you might want to check that. Whatever you do, i'd do it soon !
PS: the value of that vehicle with a salvage title is just about half of normal !
