Stock Block?

Stock block isn't the best way to go, but definately the cheapest. It's rated at around 450 hp n/a. It will work on street applications though! Problem is people get carried with adding horsepower. If you plan on going with juice or forced induction at least the Sportsman block is a must. The Sportsman block has more webbing in the main cap area but the area where it lacks is in the lifter valley. I've seen 3 blocks crack right down the lifter valley and that's what scares me about a stock block. The other 2 blocks that are out there are the R302 and the Dart. The R302 is MUCH stronger and has lots of horsepower handling capability. The Dart block is the best much more expensive. It has 5 4 bolts mains opposed to the R302's inner 3 only. I almost bought a R302 block for my 331 stroker that would see a 150 shot but decided on upgrading to the stock 351 block which is stronger and can handle more. Just a couple words of advice. ~Brian
