well i got it idling really well, and its revving up without popping... just dunno how reliable it will be if i actually drive it.... its only running well when theres NO vacuum to the distributor advance can... nothing hooked up it runs great... anything hooked up and timing adjusted it runs like crap and backfires all the time.

i have the mixture screws out about 3/4 turn each, so it should be running pretty lean, and its been getting best results like this... its idling in neutral at 900 to 1100 rpm, choke open and warm. That should be pretty good. i just dont understand why it runs so much better with no vacuum advance hooked up... I suppose it would be easier for me with a mechanical advance distributor....

i hope the powervalve isnt blown, if it is i hear its a pretty simple fix. Just a gasket.

Do any of you guys know of where and what are all the vacuum ports on the holley carb , as i asked in my previous post? And wehre on the carburator can i find a part number or something that will enable me to identify exactly how old the carb is and its origional specs?

Thanks
