Andy - Really sorry to hear about your ordeal. It is great to hear that no one was hurt.
This whole 'uninsured' motorist crap is just that - CRAP! There should be a big fine and suspension of your license if you're caught without insurance. The law in Ohio requires insurance, problem is that they allow such low coverage that it could barely cover the cost of removing the bugs from a radiator.  Hopefully you do have the rental car insurance - it's a fairly cheap add-on to any policy and is good protection for times like these. Good luck getting everything worked out. E
