It has 3.73's and full exhaust not to mention a few hundred pound weight advantage over an LS-1 with a passenger.
I am not surprised at all, not all LS-1's are low 13 second cars. Lots of them run low 14's to high 13's. I got down to a 14.04 @95mph with my 88GT convertible @3000ft with stock heads intake and cam. Nice kill,
