![]() I have an 88GT with GT40 intake (lower is Ported). I recommend the intake especially if you plan on heads or blower in the future.
OK that said, here is the negatives I have had. As soon as I installed the intake I discovered: a wicked surging idle had a backfiring problem (thought I sloved it by adding more fuel to the mix) Poor gas mileage a loss of torque stalling when hot in toll booths I recently got it dyno tuned (240 hp, 300 lbs of torque) and the surging idle is gone, the torque is back, & so is the back firing (my tuner thinks I may have a sensor problem). Now I do not have mass air and I am in the process of bringing it back to the tuner (to solve the back firing problem). I am also considering heads, cam and a mass air conversion. Yes I would recommend a GT40 intake. Chuck 88
