Mine didn't come with directions either, so I had to improvise.

I didn't use the spring. Also, if you look up there you'll see a little triangle looking thing. I took that off too. Once that is removed you'll see is "long" metal bar that the triangle rested on. When you install the quatrant, slide it on the center axle part with the spacer and the end (not the claw part) with rest ontop of the metal bar. Don't forget to reinstall the clip on the end of the center axle. You don't want it to slide off.
