Here's a nice decoder that does it automatically for you...
http://users.ntplx.net/~jpjones/mustang/vinDecoder.htm the "d" means active belts and airbags, but you shouldn't have airbags and "k" is for model year 1989 I don't know about the "s" should be the assembly plant, but it lists it as unknown...weren't 89's made in Dearborn too?
