Sounds like there may be some inconsistancies in the casting process, AKA quality controll! This can easily happen on mass produced cast products. A mold only last so long before it de-grades and has to be re-placed. That is why some people have good luck with them and others find them of low quality. It ALWAYS come down to "you get what you pay for!"
