You can use the proportioning valve to help fine tune your brake bias. THe perfect "curve" is an arc, and the prop valve has a "kneepoint" (kink or bend) trying to simulate that curve.
I used one on my Cobra M2300k brakes:  You will also want to follow these instructions FOR THE M2300K kit). Dont know if I would recommend them on the current stock system, and the factory prop valve would be in conflict (IMOHO).
