i had a similar problem, i went and checked the alternator. But first when you turn on your car(cold) get a hold of a digital voltmeter and check the batt voltage, if it goes down, then you have a problem. But my problem was when i changed my gauge faces . the gauge cluster has a batt. light but on the back of the cluster there is a light that lights up for the batt. light, it also has a small chip that completes the charging cycle, i replaced that and it was running. I would drive it normally and the car would slowly die down like when i gave gas it would want to shut off. hope this helps
