I had all manner of hell trying to get that bolt out of my 4Runner v-6 when I was replacing the timing belt. I tried an impact wrench with no luck and almost everything else I could think of. The way I finally got it out was to put a box end wrench on it and beat the wrench about 6 inches from the bolt with a big ball pean hammer until the bolt finally came loose. Worked for me.
