If you take the lifters out and plan to re-use them, then you need to track where each lifter goes. Reason why is they all have a wear pattern. If you swap them when reassembling, you'll have flattened cam lobes in no time at all. They must go back into the same holes. Does not apply to new cam, new lifters. Egg crate or muffin tin is a good holder for lifters while they're out.
Regarding removal, hook the inside edge where the retaining clip rides and pull gently. Should glide out with light and steady pressure. |
