I would go with an edelbrock HP or other quality aftermarket thermo @ 180 deg. By paying a few bucks more, you will get an accurate thermo with a larger mouth for more flow when open. It is amazing how different parts store thermos can be with regard to advertised temp vs. actual opening temp. I have tried several and also tested my Edelbrock on the stove in a pot of hot water with a baking thermometer. You may also like to swap out the 155lph to a nice 190 or even 255. Your pump may not be providing its advertised flow at higher RPMs when the pressure rises on the reg. If you install a FP gauge (I recommend an Autometer electric running off the schrader port), you will know for sure where you stand and it will serve you well moving forward.
