I think the 5.0L's are faster. But there are several factors to that.

1. The 5.0L's are easier to modify, i.e. advance timing (and therefore most 5.0L might have a few HP more)

2. The power band on the 5.0L is broader and had more low end torque (therefore if anything they FEEL faster)

3. I think at the end of the day a stock 5.0L was putting out more than a stock 4.6L, but that is just my opinion.
