I'm sure the manufacturer would say there is, and I'm not here to say they're wrong. But I can tell you that, for what it is, and what it does, you will never need anything more than the OEM module for street/strip applications. Honestly, the OEM electronic ignition systems Ford used in 1993 were better than anything MSD sold. It's not like the old HEI systems that were great until 5k rpm. The Ford systems were capacitive discharge before MSD went that way! I installed a Crane HI-6 in my '95 F150, and it ran better with the factory system (and there was nothing wrong with the HI-6).

However, seeing as those systems are 10 years old now, you might as well replace them, and you might even notice a difference. But if you do, it's not because the MSD is so much better, but because the system it's replacing is old, tired, and wearing out.
