check all connections you loosened, when is it backfiring? off idle or more towards 4000+ RPMS? does it always backfire or only when it is cold? is the meter for stock injectors? if all fails take it to get a new chip burned, but its a waste of money if you ask me. remove the new MAF & sell it on EBAY. put the timing adjuster on the car and bump up the timing, always run premium after the adjuster is set, never run the car on nitrous with the adjuster set to advance the timing youll bow it right up. if you disconnect the new MAF and install the old MAF what happens? remember to set the MSD to remove zero timing when not running nitrous.

keep everything the way you have it, except remove the new MAF and connect the old one. take it to the track and see if there is a difference. no difference=sell new MAF. you dont have a fuel problem.
