Welcome to the mustang club
I just replied to another post about performance parts you can add on and there's a few links on there you might be interested in. If you're looking to get some serious power out of a 2.3L then either a nitrous oxide kit can help or doing a turbo swap from one of these vehicles would provide a good boost in power.

late 80's Merkur XR4Ti
'83-'84 Mustang GT (non intercooled turbo)
