![]() Along with having all the receipts for the work and parts you've invested in your car you can also have it appraised by a state-licensed appraiser and insure it under 'Assessed Valuation' (or some similar term) but the cost may be high on a frequently-driven Mustang. The good part is that if the car is wrecked or stolen you at least get back something close to what it's worth. This only covers collision and comprehensive coverage, not liability, which is a distinct and separate coverage. Bottom line: Even with 'special' insurance, you almost never get back what you actually invest in your Mustang, dollar for dollar. Driving it is your real reward. A point to remember for all of us.
