![]() The rev limiter is pulling spark or fuel and can't stop the engines rotating mass in time. If you do a 2 to 1 shift or 3 to 2 shift the rev limiter can't catch the motor in time and it will rev higher than the limit. Same thing happens if you dead stomp on the gas in neutral it will fly past red line before it catches it regardless where the limiter is.
