Nittos are the best street/strip tires. They give you lots of grip when you need it, and help keep you from sliding into the guy infront of you at a light. I have 245-40-17's on my stang all the way around and they rub just a little bit at the extreams in the front. I have heard of people putting 315's in the rear without problem, but I don't know if they had to modify anything (exhaust, fuel tank)... I kept the same size tire on all four rims so I can rotate them when necessary.

Your tired are warn more in the middle because of air pressure. (too much, too little) Keep it between 30 and 35 and you should be fine. (30-35 is what most tires specs ask for)
